Just to be clear…
I had exactly zero desire to run 10k after work today. When I got home all I wanted to do was take a shower, climb into some comfortable clothing, and eat.
It would have been so easy. I stretched for 20 minutes at 4:30 am and proceeded to do some important work on my personal finances. Then I got myself together and headed off for a full day of work. The last thing I wanted to do was go run. And that’s exactly why I had to do it.
I doubled my distance this evening from when I started running a month ago. I went 6.25 miles. While not very impressive in and of itself, I’m hurting pretty bad. I mean I’m deep in the hurt locker, as it should be.
If I want to forge mental toughness, I have to practice mental toughness.
Go do the difficult thing.
